Winter is Coming: Your Garden Checklist

Australian winters are nowhere near as frosty as those iced over cold months our Northern Hemisphere counterpart’s experience.

There are, however, still plenty of reasons why Aussie property owners should put in a little extra effort/budget throughout the winter months.

Tree Services to Storm Proof Your Home

When it comes to storm damage, trees are responsible for a big chunk of the aftermath of wild weather. Falling trees and broken limbs frequently cause power outages, personal property damage and injuries – but this doesn’t have to be the case! In this blog, we’ll explain how you can avoid a worst case scenario by investing in the right tree services before the next storm strikes.

Are my Palms Self Cleaning?

You may have heard gardening experts refer to palm trees as “self-cleaning”, but what does this phrase mean?

Palm trees produce one leaf (or frond) at a time, and once a mature tree has developed a full “crown” of leaves (which can be anywhere from 5 to 120 leaves) the tree must lose a frond every time it produces a new one.

Self-cleaning palm trees drop off these old, dead fronds without any help from gardeners. However, it can be hard to tell whether these fronds are going to eventually fall off or you should get someone in to carry out a palm tree cleaning.

Follow B & R Tree Service's guide to the most popular palm varieties in South East Queensland to identify what type of palms are in your garden, and find out what kind of maintenance they need.

Why You Should Never DIY a Stump Removal Brisbane-wide

Whether you're embarking on a new landscaping project, wanting a level surface to install a shed, deck or pool on, or just want to improve the aesthetic and safety of your property, removing an unwanted stump is one of the first tasks you need to tackle.

How to Tell When it's Time for a Tree Removal

The trees on your property play a big part in the overall appearance of your landscape, and can give your yard rich character and history. But unfortunately trees can also be a danger – to you, your property and the other trees surrounding it.

If you notice a dead, diseased or damaged tree in your yard it needs to be removed as quickly as possible. The longer you leave it, the more the decay will set in and potentially spread to other trees, making it much more difficult, dangerous and expensive to remove.
